WORK EXPERIENCE

2006 – 2007 President of the Cambridge University Chamber Orchestra
During my final year in Cambridge I have had the privilege to be the President of the University Chamber Orchestra. The skills I've developed and valuable experiences I've had are too numerous to name. The role involved working with professional conductors and soloists on a daily basis, fixing programmes, hiring music, producing and distributing publicity, running the orchestra. Further, I've had to lead and develop a dedicated committee though our fair share of difficult decisions, create a healthy and professional orchestra by inspiring the players, and work with countless other University societies and institutions to ensure our success and survival. I founded the CUCO Education! project, establishing links with several local schools and giving master classes.

2006 – 2007 Cambridge University Opera Society
Sat on the committee for the University Opera Society, helping the committee in its many and varied projects and endeavours. I also had particular involvement with the highly successful production of Hansel and Gretel, not only artistically, but also as web designer; on-line ticket sales alone grossed £5000 in one month.

2006 – 2007 Cambridge University Musical Society
Conducted the second orchestra of the University Musical Society, performing Beethoven's Seventh Symphony, Smetana's Overture to the Bartered Bride and Tchaikovsky's First Piano Concerto. Working with this orchestra has been a tremendous pleasure, and sitting on the committee has given me a valuable insight into the workings of the society.

2005 – 2006 President of the Emmanuel College Music Society
This position provided an ideal training ground for my future Presidency of the University Chamber Orchestra. Here I learnt many skills that would prove essential: the ability to make informed decisions often at short notice, how to liaise with corporations and businesses in a professional manner, and perhaps most crucially, how to work with a wide selection of people, to create a motivated society that produces the highest class of music.

2005 – 2006 Undergraduate Representative to the Faculty Board
Sat on the Board for the Faculty of Music. This gave me a valuable insight into the workings of the Music Department. I stove to represent the undergraduate members of the faculty to the board, and communicate the board's workings and decisions to the students. I also set up the cammuso website.

2005 – 2006 Communications Officer for the Emmanuel College Students Union
As communications officer for the college students' union, I had to regularly work with students and staff from both within college and the University at large. Developed the student union website and email distribution lists. Effected greater transparency between the student body and the committee.

2005 – Current Web Designer and Developer for Serene Studios
Started my own successful web design business, working with a range of clients from a wide variety of backgrounds. Many projects were time critical or involved quickly learning new skills to meet particular requirements. Clients include: Homerton, Pembroke, Emmanuel and New Hall Colleges; The University Chamber Orchestra and Opera Society; Anthony Kenney-Herbert – a market consultancy and Nigel W Brown – a local businessman and entrepreneur.

2004 – 2007 Instrumental Scholarship to Cambridge University (on Violin)
This involves not just regular rehearsals and concerts with my quartet, but also coaching from some of the most renowned professional musicians.

2003 – 2004 The London Symphony Orchestra
Nine months work experience primarily with their Discovery programme - taking projects with a range of people, from 3 month old babies to adult community choirs. I initially began in their Development department, involved in a number of high profile fund-raising events.
